Westin Palace Hotel
This luxury hotel is located in the center of Madrid’s Art Triangle, between the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum, so it is a great choice for art lovers and bohemian tales.
The Westin Palace has been a Spanish landmark since the beginning of the last century, when King Alfonso XIII commissioned it to have a place to greet the people of high society in Madrid.
Throughout history, the hotel, also famous for its glass dome, has hosted many events and served as a haven for personalities such as Picasso, Dali, Einstein and Madame Curie.
Only YOU Hotel Atocha
The hotel is located 150 meters from Madrid-Atocha Metro Station. All rooms are soundproofed and feature a large flat-screen TV, safe and minibar. The private bathroom comes with free toiletries and a bathrobe and slippers are provided.
Of course there is also free wireless internet access. The dining room is located on the top floor of the hotel, so that for a coffee you can enjoy a breathtaking view. Bonus: Madrid Barajas Airport is 15 km away in the heart of the hotel.
Hotel Hesperia Madrid
The hotel, which belongs to a Catalan copmany, offers “contemporary splendor,” as he puts it. The entrance, illuminated with restraint, leads to a space decorated in white and cream, while the vegetation gives the atmosphere the required flashes of color. The rooms, however, wear dark, strong colors.
The en suite rooms have larger bathrooms, though guests looking for a jacuzzi and a terrace need to rise to the executive and presidential level.
Hotel Ritz by Belmond
This prestigious hotel is located close to the Parque del Buen Retiro, the main and important park of Madrid, covering an area of 1.4 km. The hotel was built in 1910 at the orders of King Alfonso XIII. The hotel’s classic-style facilities include a luxurious spa, parking and free Wi-Fi. Its location makes it a convenient base for visiting the Prado and Thyssen Bornemisza museum.
Silken Puerta América G.L
This 5-star hotel has several floors designed by internationally renowned architects such as Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel and Zaha Hadid. Facilities include a Turkish bath, an indoor pool and a garden bar that combines some of the most beautiful views of Madrid. Guests can request a free shuttle service from Barajas Airport (both directions) and the city center.
Relais & Châteaux Orfila
The Orfila, belonging to the prestigious Relais Chateaux, is set in a 19th-century townhouse just meters from the Chueca neighborhood. The 5-star hotel has large, elegant rooms and a restaurant called El Jardín de Orfila, which serves a wide range of Spanish cuisine. You can also enjoy the tea room with access to the balcony and the Ophelia Gardens, where tea and pastries are served.
Hotel Santo Mauro
This hotel has recently become famous in the context of the first residence of the Beckham family (Victoria and David) in Madrid. The hotel is “hidden” on a side street close to Castellana Avenue. Behind the high walls and trees, the elegant and peaceful entrance prepares guests for the next experience. The 51 rooms are located in the two parts of what was once the residence of the Duke of Santo Mauro. All rooms are beautifully decorated and boast king-size beds and floor-to-ceiling windows with luxurious silk curtains. The old library in the former palace has been converted into a restaurant and former banquet halls now serve as conference rooms opening onto a private garden.
As the traffic rages on Gran Vía Avenue outside, the hotel staff is confronted with a constant stream of student groups and tourists.
The hotel is well located – close to the important sights of the city and offers (for the guests’ enjoyment) an excellent rooftop pool. Rooms are decorated in a conservative style and bathrooms have been renovated.
Palacio del Retiro
Decorated in shades of gray and brown, the rooms may look a little cold especially when compared to the grand front of the building that houses them. But the location is wonderful and the staff will be happy to fulfill all your wishes. The accessories of the rooms are pampering. Breakfast is excellent, as expected.
Hotel Villa Real
As can be inferred from the title, Villa Real, which also belongs to the Archaeologist Klaus, reflects the fondness of its owners for Roman archeology. Rooms are elegant, with marble bathrooms and huge windows.
